Farmers Fayre!

16th June 2017

- The PTA would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported our annual event ‘The Summer Farmer’s Fayre’ last Friday. We made a staggering £1250! We’ve have had lots of feedback from parents who said they thought the atmosphere was lovely and that the products the children had made were excellent. We would like to say a special thank you to all the independent stall holders who supported our event and particularly St. John’s Ambulance and The Guide Dogs who gave up their own time to be part of our day. St John’s Ambulance said: ‘The behaviour of the children of Countess Wear is a real credit to the school!’ We feel it’s important to keep you up-to-date on the projects that we aim to support over the coming year. After a very lengthy and thorough meeting the PTA are delighted to be able to support the following which totals over £2000:

  • Special time (part funded)

  • Milkshake club (An afterschool club that supports reception children with their reading, writing and maths)

  • Wildlife Champions

  • Resources for Forest School – Saws, children gloves, string, goggles, sandpaper, trowels and bird seed.

  • Print making project to run across the whole school

  • Year 6 School Shakespeare Festival

  • Maths resources across the school

  • After school club resources and games (part funded)

  • SATS breakfast

Without your continued support more projects like these may not happen. Don’t forget to check our Facebook page for the latest updates. Here are the following events where you could get involved and help the PTA to raise more funds:

  • Thursday 13th July - Sports day

  • Tuesday 18th July - BBQ for families to meet informally with new teachers

We really look forward to seeing you at these events! A massive well done to Sharon and Margaret for organising such a wonderful event and for raising so much money in the process. Thank you.
